I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in this blog. I have however, become a bit preoccupied with combing the internet and looking for interesting things to talk about, and thus entertain my ever increasing readership, and lost focus on the original intent of this blog. As I traveled this last weekend I re-read Christopher Hitchens book “God Is Not Great” as well as some interesting articles sent in by one of the readers and frequent commenter George.
As I read these I felt the inspiration rise back up in my chest that prompted me to begin this blog in the first place. This inspiration is several fold, but at its heart, it is a deep desire to flesh out the budding ideas and concepts that have been nurtured in my mind concerning religion.
I will be spending the next several weeks (if not months) then, expanding on the topic of the “Narrow Lens of Religion”. This is a phrase that, if you have read my blog for any length of time at all, you have heard me refer to. I had seriously contemplated, and at some point may still pursue, this as the subject of a book. I will be doing some intensive research and writing concerning this topic here in an attempt to flesh out the basic concepts behind the idea.
Future posts in the coming weeks will be on this topic and I would enjoy feed back on the concepts provided. These topics will be necessarily long and I do hope that you will take the time read them. If you are interested in reviewing this material I suggest adding my blog to your blog reader so that you will know when they are posted as future posts will less frequent.
I am truly looking forward to the journey this exploration will take me on and hope that you will tag along as well.

Life around us is a wonderful thing! For some reason, we atheists are often labeled or tagged as “believing in nothing” or “our lives are meaningless” compliments of the zombie Jesus folks.
I am in constant awe of nature. I’m not a botanist, biologist or any kind of “ologist”
, but I recognize the beauty of nature.
In my opinion, religion takes away the wonder and replaces it with ID or Creationism. Evolution is a great accompaniment to nature.
True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.
Wisdom begins in wonder.
Socrates
The wonder of the world through a very wide lens is my new religion.
I don’t have to understand everything or attribute the unknown to an invisible creator to be in awe of it. Religious people actually belittle the immensity of our universe by attributing it to a silly god that acts like a man. The narrow lens of religion is only a pacifier to help people to deal with the unknown things that scare the shit out of them.
I look forward to your long posts on the subject. Although my attention span may require me to read it in a couple sittings.
“I am truly looking forward to the journey this exploration will take me on”
Sounds great! I’m really looking forward to it to. While the day in and day out stories are fun and all from around the internet…the big picture and an introspective look at one’s place in it will be even more riveting.
