Blogging gets convoluted and where the heart of this Blog is supposed to be me working out some of my ideas, that core subject matter gets lost in all the fun
This is a list of the articles I have written on this blog along with an excerpt from the article, if you are looking for some more substantive reading click on the link.

So Many Religions, So Little Time
Did you know that according to the researchers at Adherents.com There are 43,930 different religious sects in the world today? Did you know that over 34,000 of them are variations of Christianity? Striking isn’t it? Imagine the audacity required to say to another religious person “Your version of belief is incorrect. You need to convert and worship my way.” Seriously, it is mind boggling.
The year is 1983 and a young man stands in a large crowd in New York City. The crowd has gathered to watch an astonishing feat. No one in the crowd expects the feat to work, how could it? The Statue of Liberty is much too large and prominent to just disappear. As David Copperfield approaches the crowd roars then falls silent as he speaks.
National Day of Prayer – Just Plain Wrong
What I do care about though is the mentality behind the prayer, the propagation at a national level that the Christian is superior in thought, mind and deed to the other 48% of the population, the propagation at a Government level that the Christian agenda is deserving of national recognition

Imagining A World Without Gods
“You’re traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That’s the sign post up ahead, your next stop…The No God Zone!”….
That’s right. According to the Bible your kids are hell bound where they will be tortured for all eternity. Poor 4 year old Johnny died and now he is burning in hell. It makes me sad to say, but it is not my religion and I did not make the rules……
There is approximately 52,000,000 (thats 52 million) square miles of inhabitable land mass on the planet earth. This means Jesus came and died on an area that is 0.00634615384615385% of the earths inhabitable land mass. 2000 years ago humans inhabited virtually every corner of the planet……
The Resurrection of Jesus – Really?
…..Now comes the point of contest. If indeed, and there cannot be any dispute among Christians, Christ’s crucifixion is the single most important event in all history, providing that it was followed by his resurrection and ascension. Then why on all of heaven and earth would he, could he, conceal himself after the resurrection……
Atheism, Morality and Biblical Influence – The Mesh
…..Admittedly this article is limited in scope and does not address in full the complete question of the origins of morality as it applies universally to all of human life. I have intentionally narrowed the lens to reflect only the most common assertion that I see. That being, in 2009 I get my morals from the Bible even though I do not believe in the Bible or God……
…..As an Atheist, Skeptic, Agnostic or what ever you want to call me I often contemplate why it is that those of us who fall into these categories feel the need to “evangelize” our lack of doctrine. Is evangelize the right word?…..
The Bible tells of the Israelite mandate and pursuit of God’s will in the books of Joshua and Judges to go into the promised land and kill all inhabitants. God went so far as to mandate that all the people as well as livestock and even crops should be destroyed. If the Israelite failed to do so then anyone left alive would be very unpleasant……
….Chapter 5 of Crean’s book though had me yelling back at the words on the page, in the middle of a restaurant, while eating chicken fried steak and eggs. Amused, I looked up and realized exactly what I had been doing. At any rate, what happens when I do get this way is write down my opposing view and post it here for you, my dear reader, to peruse and perhaps contemplate……
My Baptism In The Holy Ghost In Retrospect
One of my most memorable experiences from childhood was my baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
The Holy Ghost was formally introduced to us when Jesus ascended into heaven saying to his disciples:…..
Christians and Catholics and the like would have me believe that I am going to hell. They would have me believe this because I don’t subscribe to one certain methodology of thinking. Because I don’t believe in something. They tell me that unless I do one thing all of my life’s deeds and action are meaningless……
So often when I am speaking with people and religion comes up I am accused of copping out. They say atheism is the easy road out because it does not require belief. I say atheism is the hard road because it forces me to deal with ideas and concepts and accept the unknown……
Here some things I just don’t understand. If the Bible is God’s infallible word and it contains Gods law, the rules for righteous conduct, the correct path to heaven, and a moral guide for all humanity.
Why then has it’s meaning changed at all?…..
With the recent poll showing that the number of Americans that believe in God is on the decline I have been watching the news and blogosphere with interest. If you haven’t seen the poll look Here . The comments are always the interesting, as a person who frequently visits atheist and agnostic blogs, and as a former believer …..
